The status was approved for Capita Software Services e-citizen solution, which allows customers access to both local authority and central government online services using a single sign-on. The Government Gateways Alliance Programme (GGAP) is part of the Cabinet Office e-Delivery Team’s ongoing commitment to work in partnership with key IT suppliers in delivering the Government Gateway and related services across the Public Sector. EDT Business Relationship Partnering Manager, Damien Kennedy said: “I am delighted to welcome Capita into the growing family of |
GGAP and look forward to working in partnership in order to deliver effective joined-up secure online services.”
The award establishes Capita Software Services as one of a few leading suppliers granted the position of approved vendor. This will reduce the time and effort required for local authorities to connect to the Government Gateway, simplifying the registration process. It will also minimise many technical questions alleviating the burden on authorities.
Deane Greenouff, Business Manager at Capita Software Services said: “We are delighted to receive status approval of EDT. This will simplify the Government Connect registration process, reducing time and costs for local authorities as well as improving customer service and accessibility. Achieving this status of approval demonstrates our position as an approved vendor in a government led project.”
EDT is a division of the Delivery and Transformation Group within the Cabinet Office, and is based in Birchwood, Warrington. The primary purpose of EDT is to sustain and develop the Government Gateway. To date the GGAP has signed up over 40 private sector IT companies in order to co-ordinate and promote the roll out of the Government Gateway across the Public Sector.
