Capita Software Services today announced that it has won a contract to provide revenues & benefits software for Coventry City Council. The new software will help the Council improve efficiency of internal processes as it will enable full online integration and information sharing between its revenues and benefits departments. As a result residents will benefit from a faster and more proficient Council Tax and Benefits service.

"We constantly review our services in order to identify areas where we can improve delivery to our customers using the latest technology and processes," commented Cathy Hipkin, Head of Revenues and Benefits at Coventry City Council. "We are confident that Capita Software Services will help us meet our aim of improving efficiency. This technology will enable closer integration between our revenues and benefits departments as well as simplify future integration with other technologies we may wish to take advantage of, such as mobile or customer relationship management systems."

The new revenues and benefits software is due to launch in early 2007. The solution incorporates a new module known as Academy Business Connect which ensures the integration of back-office revenues and benefits applications with customer relationship management, document management and workflow systems. This allows greater interoperability between Capita's software and other third party applications therefore facilitating closer working between the back and front office.

Paul Millard, Associate Director, Revenues and Benefits for Capita Software Services, said: "Authorities throughout the UK are reviewing their processes and technology to ensure the use of best practice and achieve efficiency targets. Coventry City Council is taking it one step further by ensuring that its systems and processes are ready to take full advantage of future technologies."

Comprehensive training will be provided to all Council employees. This will include the use of Skillwise, an intuitive computer based learning tool so that staff can have refresher training at a time to suit individual circumstances.
