Capita Software Services wins contract to implement Revenue & Benefits system for Sheffield City Council

Capita Software Services today announced that it has been selected by Sheffield City Council to provide Revenues and Benefits software following a competitive procurement process. The contract, valued in excess of £650,000, will initially run over a five-year period. Council employees will benefit from the system's ease-of-use which will lead to more efficient internal processes and therefore faster service for over 500,000 local residents. A new web-enabled functionality will also provide customers with an additional means of checking their Council Tax and Benefits accounts online.

Andy Dolling, Assistant Director of Finance (Contracts) at Sheffield City Council, commented: "The Council's aim is to achieve a greater level of modernisation with closer integration between its revenues and benefits operations. We are confident that Capita Software Services' solution will help us to improve service delivery and meet Local Council objectives, such as citizen engagement, outlined by the ODPM."

Sheffield City Council will benefit from a fully integrated web-enabled revenue and benefits system incorporating Capita Software Services' Academy Council Tax & Housing Benefits applications. Council employees will receive full training support from a technological as well as business process perspective. All employees will have access to Skillwise, Capita's online training package designed to provide best practice procedures and produce management reports supporting the Council's need to demonstrate noticeable service level improvements.

The contract was awarded following a competitive procurement process via OJEC.
